Zero at the BoneEmily Dickinson
|
Emily Dickinson, a famous American poet wrote the poem Snake. Her poem speaks of her fear.
"...But never met this fellow, Attended or alone, Without a tighter breathing, And zero at the bone." Although Emily's encounter with the snake was real, it is often the things that are unseen or unknown that are most frightening. As humans we have a wonderful and powerful imagination. Through our own thoughts and dreams, we have given form and function to our fears. Often the shapes we create are monsters. |
